Hi Craig,
I use the latest version (8.0) of WinZip to open the tar.Z file, and I
don't have the problems you describe. My guess is that you have an
earlier WinZip version, and in that case I suggest that you upgrade
(http://www.winzip.com/) and try again.
Please let us know if that works.
