It's primarily supposed to be installed on your server. But there is
also a possibility for those who has installed it to allow other
ringmasters to register their rings. About the "list of rings"; if you
mean the Ringlink Systems Directory, yes, it's links to other rings
using Ringlink (not all of them, though).

We have had a couple of discussions about that on this list as well as
ringmgr@egroups.com, and there is some concern about the CPU time the
repetitive calls for Perl will cause. So far nobody has been able to say
what's the limit in this respect.

I have a ~500 sites ring with about 130,000 hits during the last eight
weeks which I intend to run using Ringlink, and I believe it will work,
even if I'm not sure, either. Nobody who has already moved their ring
has reported any trouble so far.
