Hi Mary, I'm glad you brought this up b/c I was going to suggest free.prohosting.com to someone . . . prohosting won't allow _files_ or _directories_ to be chmod 777? None of the .pl files should need chmod 777, but directory (or folder) "data" does (sometimes -- you can play around with it) I had a host that was weird about permissions too -- directories had to be 711 (but that was only at the top level e.g. www.mydomain.com/cgidirectory/ (you didn't have a cgi-bin -- you could make your own directories anywhere) Your message sounded like you couldn't chmod directory data -- but you said you couldn't chmod files -- so I am probably confused . . . My structure is /cgi-bin /lib /data is that what you mean by same level?
