The "huge" number of postings

For your info, below follows a message to a ringmaster who unsubscribed
from this list because of the large number of postings the past few
days:
I fully understand your reaction, it's been a lot of postings the last
few days, and some of them might be considered to be off-topic. (Btw, I
just disabled the emails from webringnews for the same reason.)
However, I'm convinced that the large amount of postings to the Ringlink
mailing list is temporary. The Y! take-over has made a lot of people
upset, and many ringmasters have subscribed to the Ringlink mailing list
during the last week.
There is an archive at
http://www.gunnar.cc/ringlink/mailarc/maillist.html where all the
postings can be read. But personally I find emails much more comfortable
(and it seems to me like you are of the same opinion).
So my advise is that you should give it another chance. If many more
off-topic messages would be posted (which I don't believe), I would take
some actions to limit the number of postings.
