Hi, I have some potentially good news for you. Like you, my current Webring ring - which I plan to migrate to RingLink very soon - uses prev5/next5 and skip next/prev and I didn't want to lose them (especially since I use a manually maintained list page with added information about the sites in the ring). I was in discussion with Gunnar before his vacation about this, and got his approval to create prev5 and next5 based upon list.pl. I've also done skipnext and skipprev, based on next.pl and prev.pl. I mailed the finished versions to Gunnar just after his vacation announcement. Providing he doesn't discover any problems, next5 and prev5 should now appear in the next release. It's less clear whether skip next/prev will be there since Gunnar is less convinced of their usefulness than I am, but they may be made available on some sort of facility for optional components that can be added in if ringmasters want to use them. If you want to use skipnext/skipprev, you'll also need a slightly modified lib/gentools.pm, but I'm hoping Gunnar will include that in the release anyway. If you want to see the new code in action, visit http://www.chorazin.org.uk/ringtest/1.htm and try out my 12-site test ring. I know the HTML for ring navigation looks tacky - I made it as quickly as possible to test out the scripts! Alan
