suggestions for project list - crickrock

Gunnar,
First off, I'd like to thank you for your dedication and help with bringing
us Ringlink. Many ringmasters, including myself, are extremely grateful for
the time and sacrifice you put into the system. I don't know how you can
ever be properly thanked!!
I realize it's bad timing with the recent release of Ringlink 1.1, but I
thought I'd throw in my 2 cents of what I would like to see implemented in
future versions of Ringlink. Most of my suggestions have to do with master
admin of the ring system, rather than admin of individual rings. I've got a
few, so take them as you'd like:
Inactive Sites Auto-Expire Feature
One suggestion that I have been getting from my ringmasters a lot is to have
a "queue" or inactive site, auto-expire feature. Many sites that sign up
don't ever put the code up on their pages, and it would be very convenient
if you could set a certain amount of time that the inactive site will
automatically be deleted and sent an email explaining that they need to sign
up again. This would save ringmasters a lot of trouble of deleting the
sites one by one. (I currently have 34 inactive sites in one ring that look
like they're not going to be adding the code any time soon, and would like
to delete these from the list)
Inactive Ring Auto-Expire Feature
Along the same subject as above, It would be very very good to have an
auto-delete option for rings as well. Many of the rings that sign up with
my system just sign up, then do absolutely nothing with it. This feature
would delete rings automatically that have not added any sites or done
anything with the ring after a set amount of time, and send the ringmaster
an email. I currently have about 75 "empty" rings on my system, with more
being added each day. As much as I would like to individually delete each
one, I just don't have the time.
Ring Counter - (addition to site counter)
It would also be beneficial to be able to list how many rings are on the
system, as well as sites in the individual rings.
Email ringmasters - (addition to email ring members, but in master admin)
Listing of ringmasters emails, separated by commas, or tool to mass email
ringmasters directly from admin.
Ring Search - (addition to site search)
Ability to search for rings on system, then sites in rings.
"List Rings" feature in master admin- something like the "active" and
"inactive" list of sites in ringadmin. It would be great to have a list,
separated into pages of 25 or so, of:
Name of ring w/ link to ring homepage, Ringmaster's name, Ringmaster's
email, ring id, how many sites in ring, when ring was created.
Along those same lines, it would be great to have a ring list page that acts
like list.pl (maybe ringlist.pl??) -
Displaying rings on the system- It could include:
Name of ring w/ link to ring homepage, description of ring, ring id, how
many sites in ring, when ring was created
I guess what I'm trying to say is that for each item on the project list,
you should have the broader parallell, having to do with rings on the
system, as well as sites in the rings.
If further explaination is needed, please let me know. I've just sort of
thrown this all out at once.
Cheers!
