Lawrence, It sounds lik you have two problems. 1) It sounds like you have a permissions problem writing the ring creation data. Some is being written and others not. Check your error log for a write create error or permission denied. 2) When a ring is created there is a selection to allow addition of SITES. This is different than the allow addition of RINGS in the config. This is probably related to problem #1 as the ring data has not been correctly written to disk. Permissions problems are different on Win98, WinNT and UNIX servers. You have to be sure that the Ringlink system has write permissions to the DATA directory and the subs and files it creates. Ringlink sets the UNIX permissions on files it creates but I think the System Administrator has to do it on a Windows server. You will need to understand this very clearly in order to let the NT host service know exactly what you need. Be sure to ask before paying for space. Some Sysops do not like to set up special permissions on individual accounts. AND in this age of unbelievable growth they may not have the skills to do it. Someone with WIn/WinNT experiance may be able to be more specific. Jock D.
