I really like the maillist you have, especially because you built in archiving.
I don't think a change is called for, but there are advantages that a bulletin
board system can have over a maillist:
1.) less spam since you have to register, and because an admin can delete spam
before everyone has to get it
2.) probably a better search function and easier access to use it
3.) and the main advantage: "instant" conversation vs. delays which sometimes
happen on the mail list (e.g. someone asked a question a while back, you
answered, but then I answered before getting your reply 2 hours later...)
