This is to formally announce that "The Ringlink Host's Webring" is now ready to accept Ringlink host system homepages. I had no idea that it would take this long when I started, I have just applied the final touches to the graphics. I hope you approve Pete. My apologies...and my thanks to the ring's charter members: Gunnar, Pete, Greta, Jock, T. McGuire for giving me some sites to work with in the final stages. I'm enjoying the fact that the term "webring" is now recognised as generic. We can still call our rings "webrings" with impunity. If you have installed Ringlink with the intention of hosting the rings of others, the Ringlink Host's Webring will bring to your system homepage, ringmasters looking for your services. The ring will also help those ringmasters who cannot install Ringlink on their servers, to find a Ringlink system operator willing to host their ring. If your ring installation will be open to hosting the rings of others, please be sure to join. Ringlink Host's Webring, homepage: http://ringlink.curio.org/host/ I shall make every effort to activate your sites within hours if not minutes. If you are not interested, or even eligible to join, you can still promote the success of Ringlink host installations. We have prepared an animated button that can be mounted on any page, together with the code to link your visitors to the Ringlink Host's random list page. Now go to the URL above and look at that cute little button, it's only 126x33 pixels, surely every ringmaster can find a place for that. Thank you all for your consideration. I wish you every success as you strive to make the world wide web a place for people and community. It is my pleasure, and a great honour to be associated with you all. Yours, Dave Please note: the ring toolbar graphic is available on a green background: http://ringlink.curio.org/images/rhr354x60.gif or on a transparent one: http://ringlink.curio.org/images/rhr354x60t.gif
