Newbie needing advice

hey everyone. I'm a newbie to making a webring.  Used to be on Webring.org,
but Y!'s new "easy to use" system...well pardon my language, sucks.  I'm
trying to set up a webring for an official comic site.  I've looked through
Ringlink's stuff, and while I haven't tried yet to work through (no time), it
seems the easiest to work through without fighting with some other group's
code and regulations.  Any tips for someone who hasn't used Ringlink or PERL
code ever?  Work arounds or advice?  Shortcuts or tips?  Any help and
suggestions will be very appreciated!
