Ringlink 1.2 has been released, and is available for download. This release includes a first version of the statistics feature. More about it below. Other new features compared to release 1.13: - Option in "Ring admin" to 'hide' the HTML code URL, i.e. prevent it from being editable by the ringmembers. - A new header, X-Originating-IP, is included in every notification email sent from Ringlink. Statistics ---------- The stats feature is enabled by setting a new variable in rlconfig.pm, $stats. When enabled, the ring traffic is registered - both generated and received traffic - and the current stats for a site can be viewed in "Site admin". For the time being, the feature does not include any summary stats for all the sites in a ring. Two important notes, if you choose to enable the stats: 1) To ensure that it will work smooth, run the "Reset stats" routine from "Master admin" immediately after enabling the feature. 2) Note that the stats feature means that ring navigation causes an increased load on the server. If this is an issue for you (or your web hosting provider...), you might prefer not to enable the stats after all, or you should at least be extra watchful of how the server is affected. The Ringlink stats feature keeps record of received respective generated hits during the last 30 days. I have used about the same code for a few months in a home-made hitcounter, and right now the stats is presented in the same way as you can see at the bottom of http://www.ringlink.org/. I look forward to your feedback. As regards a future overview ring stats, I'd also appreciate your views on how that could be best presented. / Gunnar
