sendmail problem

Hello,
I posted it already as a support-request, but didn't get an answer till now.
I want to ask, if anybody also encountered the problem.
Everything works fine (at least everything I tested) with my installation of
version 2.0 - only no mail is send, though I put in the correct path to
sendmail (I checked it quite often).
I would't have know it, if I hadn't a testrun with my own email-adress to
get the code. I also tried the password-reminder several times on several
days - no mail.
I'm reluctant to ask my webhost if there are any problems with his sendmail,
because I have no clue of CGI and really don't know how to put my question
there :-\
Perhaps anyone has any idea??
