I think it is a rather nifty idea, and if the required image/s could be 
attached to the email that is sent out with the HTML code, then I think it 
would be a great new feature. :-)
He just gave an example of [picfolder] = http://my-site/gif/, 
it could just as easily be [picfolder] = /http://my-site/ 
so the member could store the image/s in the same folder as the HTML file?
