Hi everybody! The famous quote that begins "to laugh often and much" and ends "this is to have succeeded" (I hope you know what I mean) is often attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson, but I have heard that this is inauthentic (ie, the quote cannot be located in any of his copious writings, journals, letters, etc). Anyone know if it is authentic or if not, where it really came from? Just curious... Sarah ps. I think this list should be open to all quote gurus, not just webring members!!
