Some mailing lists have digest versions, i.e. messages are put together and sent out to the subscribers as one large email once a day or once a week or something like that. The reason for choosing a digest version is to prevent the inbox from being filled up with too many list emails. For this list, there is no digest version. But another (and, in my opinion, better) way to organize incoming list messages is to set up a filter in the email client. I set up such a filter myself, so that incoming messages whose "to" or "cc" field contains the string "quotation-ring-l@gunnar.cc" are automatically moved to a separate folder and never go to the "inbox". That was easy with Netscape Messenger, and I suppose that many other email clients have similar features.
