I (as a flutist) think that one of the reasonsI play music is because I
sometimes feel so hopelessly inadequate with words, especially trying to
describe emotion or beauty, despite my acceptable college boards and the
fact that my "other major" (besides flute) is English. I believe that
music expresses things that words never can.
"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to
remain silent."
(Victor Hugo)
Maybe that's why I like quotations -- I can take other people's words!! :-)
