Messages without real contents

For some weeks, there have been rather few postings to this list with
quotes related contents. Since we all know that, I ask you not to post
messages only to establish that fact. And greetings are nice, but
messages with _only_ greetings shouldn't be posted to any mailing list.
Sorry for being dreary, but there is a reason for it. A few people have
reacted to such postings by unsubscribing the list, and I don't feel
very happy about that. I suppose that they joined the list because they
are interested in quotes. Then, for a few weeks there were very few
quotes related postings, and when they received a few list messages at
last, those messages were still not about quotes. I guess that they were
simply disappointed and consequently unsubscribed.
I do hope that nobody takes offence at this message, and I certainly
don't want to discourage anybody to post on topic messages. I'm just
asking you to please take into consideration that this is a mailing
list, and that each posting is forwarded as an email to a great number
of people...
Hopefully the quotes related queries and discussions will soon start
again.
