"Julian of Norwich" was written by Sydney Carter, who also wrote the words to "Lord of the Dance" set to the tune of the Shaker hymn "Simple Gifts." The copyright on the song is 1981. According to the notes in "Rise Up Singing," Julian (1342-1416) was considered on the the greatest mystics of medieval times. She had a room in Norwich Cathedral which had one opening facing outward (for the people who streamed to her for solace and advice) and a second opening facing inward towards the sanctuary. The words are: "Loud are the bells of Norwich and the people come and go Here by the tower of Julian I tell you what I know Ring out bells of Norwich and let the winter come and go All will be well again, I know Love, like the yellow daffodil is coming through the snow Love, like the yellow daffodil is Lord of all I know" I agree - the really is a lovely, haunting song.
